The Red Hat Developer Technologies Engineering Team is looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to gain hands-on experience with developing open source and Red Hat products during a coop/ internship. This position will be focused on a project that solves problems and alleviates pain points for the thousands of developers that use Red Hat technologies to build applications. What you will do

As a technical intern in this role, you will work with the following technologies on a day-to-day basis; don't be discouraged if you aren't familiar with some of the tools and technology included in the list below, as we can help you learn as long as you have the flexibility to apply your knowledge and experience to these new tools:
  • Containers / docker
  • Kubernetes
  • Linux
  • Develop code with the following languages:
    • Go
    • JavaScript / Typescript
    • Bash scripts
    • Python
    • Other OpenShift-supported languages
  • Communicate with community members through IRC, forums, and email
  • Participate in upstream projects
  • Most importantly be engaged in developing market leading open source technology working day to day with our Red Hat engineers

What you will bring

  • Currently pursuing a degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system (any distribution)
  • Coding experience in languages like Java, JavaScript, Go , Python or other scripting languages
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
The following are considered a plus:
  • Previous code contributions to or participation in open source projects or code samples on GitHub
  • Knowledge and experience with Kubernetes, containers , cloud native application architectures, and devops
